VENTURI Automobiles

Founded: 1984 Fontvieille, Monaco

Founder: Claude Poiraud, Gérard Godfroy

Owner: Gildo Pallanca Pastor

Venturi Automobiles is a French manufacturer of sports cars born under the name of MVS (Manufacture de Voitures de Sport). The original company built high-performance mid-engined sports cars, the best known of which is the Venturi Atlantique, from 1984, until it declared bankruptcy in 2000. The brand was purchased in 2001. It is now based in Monaco and builds extremely limited production electric vehicles.

The first Venturi came out in 1984, created by Claude Poiraud and Gérard Godfroy, two former engineers at Heuliez. The goal was to present the only “Grand Tourisme” French car capable of competing with the Italian Bugatti, the Italian Ferrari, and the German Porsche.

There are some achievements that Venturi has to boast of. The 400 GT remains one of the best performing French cars ever produced, and it is, in fact, the very first car in the world to have standard carbon brakes. It had gained victories on races that proved it high performance in racing.

The company also ventured into producing electric-powered  engines like Eclectic- the world’s first energy autonomous vehicle. Astrolab is another model recognized as the world’s first solar-electric hybrid car.

Venturi logo is simplest of all the car logos in the automobile world. The thin red line resembling to V and its company name in white strong font satisfies the logo. Black background gives it a more catchy look and unique quality among other car logos. The performance of the logo as one of the fastest cars in the world made it a smart choice among other car logos.
