TVR is an independent British manufacturer of sports cars. The TVR Company was born in 1949 when a young engineer, Trevor Wilkinson, built his first sports car with its own chassis and a Ford engine. The company had struggled to be known for 10 years but with the creation of Grantura, success was achieved. The Grantura is a a short-wheelbase sports car sold in kits form and was available with a variety of engines and running gears.

It was recognized as the third-largest specialized sports car manufacturer in the world, offering a diverse range of coupés and convertibles. TVR sports cars are composed of tubular steel frames, cloaked in fibreglass bodywork. TVR’s cars have been renowned for strong performance thanks to their big power and simplicity. On the downside, they were infamous of poor build quality and tricky handling.

TVR car logo can be easily noticed unlike other complicated car logos. It is simple and mark of modernity that competes with other car logos in the market. TVR car logo in its simplicity carries one of the great names in sports cars. Standing on the long years of existence, TVR car logo had established legacy along with other car logos.

In the latter half of 1990s, TVR sold over 2,000 cars a year and challenged Lotus seriously as the biggest British sports car specialist. The company was later sold to Russian Nikolai Smolenski, it went into financial trouble and eventually closed down in 2006. Recently, the owner plans to rebuild it again.
